John Nesmith Greely (b. June 6, 1885, Washington, D.C.-d. June 13, 1965), U.S. Army officer, was commissioned in the field artillery after graduating from Yale University in 1906. He served as military attaché in Madrid, Spain, commanding general of the Provisional Brigade, commanding general of the 2nd Division, chief of the military mission to Iran, and as analyst in the office of the coordinator of Inter-American affairs. James Francis Collins (1905-1989) was born in New York City. After his graduation from West Point in 1927, he commissioned in the field artillery. During World War II, he served with the I Corps.
